The IMO Model Course 6.09 Training for Instructors is designed to allow you to relate your knowledge and experience to facilitate, deliver and assess competence standards and courses required by the STCW Convention.

This is designed to an international standard published by the IMO, for teaching at all levels, whether you are a DSTO, a senior officer, a short course instructor or teaching the longer foundation degrees.

Prerequisites

Minimum Age: 19 years old

Who is it For?

This course is for instructors who will deliver maritime training, or marine professionals who will begin educating, whether onboard or in a classroom.

The course covers mentoring and coaching, and is ideal for superintendents and senior officers as well as short course trainers and university instructors.

Certification Details

Upon successfully completing the course, participants will earn a certificate of training for IMO 6.09 Model Course Training Course for Instructors.

For an additional admin fee, we can cross-certify as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, to allow you more options outside of the maritime industry.

The certificate does not expire, however refresher training is recommended.
