ISM Superintendents Training Package

The Superintendent’s Training Package includes a number of sub-courses, and the scheduling for these will be tailored to your needs, within 18 months of starting training. This includes incident investigation, DPA, CSO, Train the Instructor, Dry BMS, Management Self-Assessment, Navigation Auditing, ISM / ISO Lead Auditor and Tanker Vettings.

The Superintendent’s Training Package is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles. This package consists of multiple specialized sub-courses, each focusing on critical aspects of maritime operations, safety, and management. The scheduling of these courses will be customized to fit your specific needs and professional commitments, ensuring flexibility while maintaining a structured learning path. By completing this training package, you will gain a well-rounded expertise in key operational and safety management areas, strengthening your ability to oversee and enhance maritime practices within your organization.

Who is it For?

This course is for superintendents who will be acting as DPA and/or CSO, and conducting ISM audits onboard.

Package Details

As a package, these courses are offered at approximately 75% of the cost of the individual courses.

  • IMO 3.11 Safety Investigation into Marine Casualties and Marine Incidents: Learn systematic techniques for analyzing and reporting maritime incidents to enhance safety and prevent future occurrences.
  • ISM Designated Person Ashore (DPA): Gain an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities and legal obligations of a DPA under the ISM Code.
  • MCA / IMO Model Course 3.20 Company Security Officer (CSO): Develop the skills needed to oversee and implement security measures in compliance with the ISPS Code.
  • IMO Model Course 6.09 Train the Instructor: Enhance your ability to deliver effective training sessions, ensuring knowledge transfer and competency development within your organization.
  • INTERCARGO DryBMS (Optional): Understand the industry best practices for managing dry bulk vessel operations, focusing on safety, quality, and performance improvement.
  • OCIMF Management Self-Assessment (TMSA & OVMSA- Optional): Gain insights into the Tanker Management and Self-Assessment (TMSA) and Offshore Vessel Management and Self-Assessment (OVMSA) frameworks to improve operational performance and compliance.
  • ISM Navigation Auditor / Assessor (Optional): Learn to conduct thorough navigation audits, ensuring adherence to best practices, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • ISM / ISO Lead Auditor: Develop expertise in conducting audits for the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and ISO standards to assess and improve safety management systems.
  • Tanker Vettings (Optional): Understand the vetting process for tankers, including industry requirements, inspection protocols, and risk assessment methodologies.

Delivery

As a package, you have 18 months to attend all of the above courses with us. During or after booking, we will discuss the scheduling of the courses you can attend.
